Historical memory: freedom, exile, prison A sector of the beach in the French town of Argelès-sur-mer was the first internment camp of thousands of Republicans fleeing Francoist troops in February 1939. This conference will discuss this field and its subsequent ones uses in a Europe of exclusions. In charge of Marta Marín-Dòmine, professor at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada, Director of the Center for Memory and Testimony Studies and author of the book 'Fugir was the most beautiful thing we had' (publication, January 2019).
