The trail of Barcelona cemeteries

Cemeteries of Barcelona, to raise awareness of lesser-known face of the city,  has launched  "THE TRAIL OF THE CEMETERIES" which includes the two monumental Cemetery of the city: Poblenou and Montjuïc.

The aim is to show these areas as places of death not of life but because the cemeteries are the summary of our recent history and where we can find many of our references.

"A Walk in the Cemetery of Poblenou"

Poblenou Cemetery Route is about a visit of Barcelona in the nineteenth century through the different cemeteries and characters buried there.

The Path is, in short, a brief but fantastic and evocative reconstruction of one hundred years of history. A journey that begins in 1775, when the bishop Climent blessed the new funeral premises and ends with the Universal Exhibition of 1888. The tour consists of 29 sculptured graves properly marked.
